Foreign Beers Night

An awesome night capped off by a final EWB vs MESS dance-off. It was a great way to finish the year of EWB at Monash. Thanks to MESS for co-hosting the event and SKM for their assistance with the night.

AGM

Congratulations to all our new committee members! If you missed out on the AGM and want to be on the committee or just get more involved, you still can. Send us an email with you interests and we will get you on board.

Thank you to everyone for making 2008 such an awesome year. In particular, a big thanks to all the committee members who are finishing (or have finished) their last year at EWB Monash as they move on to bigger and better things.

Tour of CH2

A small group went on a tour of the ecologically friendly Council House 2 building in the city. It was very interesting to learn about some of the green technologies that can be used in constructing a building in order to reduce its engergy consumption and waste production, while increasing producitivity of its workers.

Indigenous Culture Festival

A day celebrating indigenous culture featuring indigenous dancers, a movie night and more.

It started a bit rough as we were buffeted by the wind, but by lunchtime the weather had calmed a bit and the sun came out. Plenty of people came along to try the kangaroo sausages and everyone loved the indigenous dance and story.

To cap off the day, we held a movie night featuring a screening of Ten Canoes and freshly made damper.

A huge success. Thank you to everyone involved and to all who came along.

*Check back here later for photos.

MCCO Working Bee

The untiring MCCO were in the shed again this week, doing what they do best. Thank you to everyone who came along to lend a hand.

Through all their hard work MCCO have been fixing up computers faster than they are given away. If you would like to apply to receive a computer, check out the MCCO page (using the menu on the right) for an application form.

Science Week - Appropriate Technology Day

Thankfully, for the sake of our barbeque, the rain stayed away long enough to give everyone a good feed.

We also got to show off some pretty cool equipment, including a briquette maker, a fuel cell car, a hand-powered rope pump and a solar panel to power our displays.

All in all it was a successful day, enjoyed by our expanding group of members as well as everyone else that happened to walk by.

MCCO and Guns to Pens Working Bee

As always the working bee was a great opportunity to catch up over a slice of pizza after a fulfilling morning's work! Thanks to everyone involved.

EGM

Congratulations to all our successful members in the recent election.

MCCO and Guns to Pens Working Bee

Saturday 3rd May

Overall it was a great day working on our Guns to Pens Working bee; cleaning up and organising our store room and we got 15 boxes full of Engineering text books to be sent to Kabul University, Afganistan!! Good work volunteers. Please be generous and donate lab equipment and books in the drop boxes placed throughtout Clayton campus.

MCCO had a fantastic day on the field too. Many thanks to Andrew for helping the volunteers on fixing up the donated computers.

The MCCO team Working hard, as usual!

A long day out and the hard work of our very committed members finished for the day with a well deserved lunch. Pizza!

Volunteers Evening

Wednesday 16th April

A fantastic evening was had by all. It was great to hear about the positive impact of EWB's continuous and sustainable approach to development

Thank you to the speakers on the night, Melanie Bok and Kaj Lofgren, for fitting us into their busy schedules and to Assoc. Prof. Gary Codner for his ongoing support for EWB Monash.

MCCO Working Bee

As usual the MCCO team has a successful day and everyone can't wait to get back to it at the next working bee.

EWB Monash Members BBQ

Despite the wind blowing away everything but the barbeque we had plenty of people come by and a few new members sign up.
If you missed this barbeque, don't worry, there will be more. Check back at this page regularly to keep updated.

Guns to Pens and MCCO working Bee

Saturday 29th March

There were heaps of new faces and plenty to do.
The Guns2Pens team sorted through a pile of books equivalent to Mount Everest and everyone at MCCO was shown the ropes as the new team takes over the reigns.
And to top it off. Pizza!

O-week

An EWB stall was set up for O-week. Despite a rainy start, the number of new EWB Monash members increased on last year's record!
